A resident of Denham Springs, and a retired bridge worker with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, he passed away Monday, February 17, 2014 at Baton Rouge General Medical Center, Mid City. He was 70, a native of Kentwood, and a former longtime resident of Zachary. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Thursday, Feb. 20, from 4-8pm, and on Friday, Feb. 21, from noon until religious services in the chapel at 2:00pm, conducted by Rev. Ricky Sinclair. Interment to follow in Azalea Rest Cemetery, Zachary. Survived by wife, Patsy Tarver Carter of Denham Springs; three sons, Andy Carter and Bobby Carter of Denham Springs, and Jeffrey Carter and wife, Laurie of Prairieville; sister, Irene C. Gill of Kentwood; three brothers, Tony Carter of Brandon, MS, Wayne Carter of Walker, and Roger Carter of Kentwood; and five grandchildren, Trent Caplang, Trista Carter, Nick Carter, Micayla Carter, and Brandon Comeaux. Preceded in death by son, Patrick Joe Carter; brother, Shelly Joe Carter; niece, Shelia Carter; and his parents, Curtis L. and Clara Mae Carter.
