Acosta Sr., Sidney Lee He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. He died at 11:15 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 67, a resident and native of Baton Rouge and a retired employee of ExxonMobil. Visiting at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Thursday, Feb. 15, was from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home on Friday from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Eric Gyan. Interment in Hope Haven Cemetery in Gonzales. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, April and Chuck Nickens, Gonzales; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Lee and Brigitte Acosta, Todd and Rebecca Acosta, and Kevin Acosta, all of Gonzales; a stepson, Rodney Primes, Houston; stepdaughter, Michelle and husband Darrin Landry of Baton Rouge; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Pat and Alan Tennyson and Rita and Hugh White, all of Baton Rouge, Carolyn David, Denham Springs, and Kathy and Marty Smith, Montgomery, Texas; and eight grandchildren, Jordan, Whitney and Avery Acosta, Connor and Hunter Nickens, and Rory, Cherié and Brandon Primes. He was preceded in death by his parents, George F. and Louise B. Acosta; brother, George M. Acosta; grandson, Christian B. Acosta; and nephew, Matthew Smith. Pallbearers will be Jordan Acosta, Brandon Primes, Ricky David, Kyle David, Chris Jarreau, Bernard Gautreau, Christopher Smith and Brad Bourg. Honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren. He was a longtime member of Ramblin' Oldies of Denham Springs Street Rod Club and he enjoyed cooking.

My heartfelt condolenses to all of you. I was hoping that Sidney would be at our 50th classroom reunion next month. We attended BRHS and I remember sharing his friendship. God be with him and his family at this time.
