Brenda Anne LaBauve, 83, of Charlottesville, Virginia, passed away peacefully at Our Lady of Peace on Tuesday, February 26, 2013. She was born on February 27, 1929, in her beloved city of New Orleans, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Louis Edward LaBauve, Sr. and Vivia Faye Aycock LaBauve. She was predeceased by a brother, Louis Edward (Buddy/Ace) LaBauve, Jr. Brenda, a graduate of St. John's Academy in Franklin, Louisiana, served in the United States Navy for two years during the Korean War. She worked for many years at Dominion Power in Alexandria, Virginia, and later as a proof-reader for Lexus-Nexus Publishing in Charlottesville. She was a member of the Church of the Incarnation. Brenda is survived by her son, Phillip Allen Gallo III (Chip) and his wife, Christine; her daughter, Kimberly Jo Gallo; two grandchildren, Asa Paige Gallo and Julia Allison Gallo; a brother, Terrell Edward (Ted) DuCharm; cousins, William (Bill) Chabreck and his wife, Jean, and Breck Chabreck and his wife, Nancy; and sister-in-law, Rosa Lozano LaBauve. Other survivors include her nephew, Lance LaBauve; and nieces, Gloria LaBauve Heigl and Laura LaBauve-Maher. A funeral Mass was held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at the Church of the Incarnation with Father Gregory Kandt officiating. Interment with military honors was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 4, 2013, at Culpeper National Cemetery in Virginia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, P.O. Box 937, Verona, VA 24482-0937 or to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch, P.O. Box 1890, Amarillo, TX 79174.
