A native of Whitehall and resident of Denham Springs, he passed away at 3 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at the Carpenter House. He was 81, a retired Installer at Wester Electric and a US Marine veteran. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Hall Fontenot; daughters, Danette Miller, Deedee Duke, Chelsea, Shannon and Monisa Fontenot; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Belden Joseph Fontenot, Jr. He belonged to the VFW and DAV. He was a hard worker and a loving husband and father.
