I am saddened to learn of Dave's passing. I was searching the internet in hopes of getting in contact with Dave. Dave was my cadet corporal at VMI and we later shared an apartment at Fort Hood, TX while lieutenants in the Army. Dave was indeed an honorable man. I regret not having attempted to make contact with him sooner.

David was a man of integrity and honor and will be sorely missed by all that have worked with him. I had the opportunity to work with him and he was the best.
He always had funny sayings and he loved his family very much, he was devoted to them.
God bless you and keep you.

To the Tippett family, please accept my deepest sympathies for the loss of David. I went to high school with Dave and his sister Sue and of course knew their mother. I knew Dave best from our Boy Scout days together. He was an honorable scout leader and had a fun loving nature about him. From reading about his life after Whitehall, he continued with these great character traits and made the world a better place. Condolences to all who feel the passing of David.

A fourth brother from another mother in the Lewis family, my oldest friend from my birth (though you were here first), my favorite, most rational, moderate, most intelligent slightly righty (my mirror image), with whom I found common ground on 80% of all issues (Washington could learn from us). I will sorely miss our monthly phone chats and once every three year cocktail sessions during which we solved all of the world's (and our respective families' problems. A true man's man, ladies' man, gentleman, philosopher, and scholar. Your friends and family grieve, but are blessed to have been part of a life well lived, and await our future "mustering." Godspeed my Brother! I love you.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of such a great mind and kind person. The things that I've learned from a business aspect during his time at Crescent City Connection have caused me to be a better leader and employee. He was a man of wisdom that could break the ice with so many of his weird sayings. He will be missed. My prayers are with family, friends and business associates.
