Retired Sheriff of West Baton Rouge Parish from 1992 to 2004, passed away at home in Lakeland, LA surrounded by his faithful and loving wife, Janice of 55 years, along with his family on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 7:00 pm. Visitation will be on Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lakeland, LA. Mass to follow with Celebrants Father Todd Lloyd and Father Jeff Bayhi. Interment will be at Chenal Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Jr and Brandon Crochet, TJ and Tyler Smith, Bryan and Jonathan Aucoin, Eric Gardner and Randall (Trey) Andre', III. Randall Andre Sr. lived a life of rich of love and joy, a father of six, grandfather of 15 and great grandfather of 16. Poured his life in building a Christian foundation of close family and friends. He was a very devout Catholic, served as an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist. He was a man who could brighten up the room with just his smile. Although he was a man of very few words, he spoke whole heartedly with integrity and compassion. He entered into law enforcement in 1977, continued until retirement as Sheriff of West Baton Rouge Parish in 2004. He inspired his employees by leading with empathy, honor and dignity. His authentic influence on the community was undeniable. He enjoyed woodworking along with hunting and fishing with his cousin/brother-in-law/best friend Andre (Bub) Chustz, Sr. and his grandchildren. Survived by his wife Martha Janice Roberts Andre'; children (in-laws) Angela Andre' (Gary Crochet, Sr.), Theresa Andre' Smith (Fred), Kathy Andre', Jennifer Andre' Johnson (Donnie), Patricia Andre' Forg (Todd), Randall Andre', Jr. (Corie Pollet); grandchildren Gary Jr, Brandon and Amy (Harrison) Crochet, Nicole (D'Aquila), TJ, Kelsey (Adams) and Tyler Smith, Bryan, Renee (Guillory) and Jonathan Aucoin, Eric, Amber and Brittany Gardner, Camryn and Randall (Trey) Andre', III.; brothers Earl Andre, Jr and Greg Andre. Preceded in death by his parents Earl Andre', Sr and Maude Bueche Andre', brother Patrick Lee Andre'. He was a member of the LA Sheriff's Association and Knights of Columbus in Lakeland LA. The family would like to thank Pointe Coupee Homebound Health and Hospice for the care provided during his time of need.
