Irene Roques Bourgeois, age 82, peacefully passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2012 in Houston. A lifelong resident of Paulina, member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Altar Society, Catholic Daughters and very active in church life including offertory counting, baptism garment sewing and making rosaries to send to missions. She is survived by her daughter, Giselle B. Loisel (husband Don); sister, Theresa Roques Miley; brothers, Nelson, Maurice and Alban Roques, Jr. and three grandchildren, Brittany, Joseph and Kristina Loisel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Nolan Bourgeois; parents, Aline Ordeneaux and Alban Joseph Roques; brothers, Theophile, Achille, Pascal Roques; and sister, Sr. Mary Juliana Roques. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 28, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at H. C. Alexander Funeral Home, 2208 Jefferson Hwy., Lutcher, LA and will continue on Monday, October 29, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Vincent Dufresne, celebrant. Burial to follow in the church mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2130 Rectory Road, Paulina, LA 70763. Friends and relatives are invited to send their condolences to: www.hcalexanderfh.com. Arrangements are under the direction of H. C. Alexander Funeral Home in Lutcher.

The whole Paulina & Lutcher community has lost yet another treasure. Mrs. Irene was so good to so many people in the community. Her love and caring and charitable community service work was greatly appreciated by many! God bless you Mrs. Irene!

Giselle & family,
Aunt Irene was always there for us. An aunt everybody wished for. We grew up with her in our life on a daily basis as we were 2 houses away. Will cherish it all in my heart. Dad must have been there at the gate to greet her.

Giselle, my heart goes out to you. Remembering our conservation a couple of weeks ago about the loss of my mother, it was actually very comforting to me. I pray that you find comfort, if not now....in the future.
