Rufus Sidney Bennett, age 78 years old passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2013. Beloved husband of Linda Sandifer Bennett. Father of Cindy Bennett Eidson (fiance' Monte Murray). Stepfather of Jeffrey Sandifer and Leslie Fairbanks. Grandfather of Nicholas Eidson; and step-grandfather of 5 grandchildren. Brother of Jewel Bennett and the late Leroy Bennett. Preceded in death by his parents Rufus Rudolph Bennett and Milbry Stevens Bennett and former wife, the late Jo Ann Chachere Bennett. Also survived by a host of nephews, nieces and cousins, including Hollis Bennett. He was a veteran of The United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service in the Chapel of Bagnell & Son Funeral Home, 75212 Lee Road, Covington, LA 70435 on Monday, October 14, 2013 at 12:00 PM. Visitation from 9:30 AM until service time. Interment will be private.

We were unaware of Mr. Sid's passing. So sorry to hear of your loss. He was a dear friend and neighbor. I know that he will be dearly missed by all. Please know that if we'd known, we would have paid our respects to the family.

One of our dear friends, mentors, and someone very special in our family. We never know what God has in store for us. I do know one thing is we will be together again some day, and from this day until then you will be deeply missed by all of us! We loved you Popps!
