One of my favorite teachers of all times. In his own way he had his hand in the development of many young peoples' lives. I am saddened by his passing. To the Fontenot and extended Fontenot family my thought and prayers are with you in your loss. He was truly a teacher not only in sports but in life. May he rest in peace.

To the Fontenot Family, my deepest sympathy to you all. Coach was an icon to the Gonzales Community. I worked for him during the summer baseball season and was the manager on his Legion team for a couple of seasons. While in high school, if Coach yelled out "35" you knew exactly what he meant. You would have to give him 35 push-ups. May you rest in eternal peace!

Coach Fontenot was a coach and teacher when I was at Gonzales High School. Although he never taught me, he was a well respected teacher and coach. His daughter later taught my children at St. Amant Middle, and they loved her. May he rest in peace!!
