Jim Thomas Griggs passed away at 9:00 PM on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the Carpenter House in Baton Rouge at the age of 72. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Nuclear Weapons Specialist. He retired from Exxon after 35 years of service. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him, in fact his brightest smile came when his children and grandchildren were around. Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, 9995 Hooper Road, Central, LA 70818 on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 from 10:00 AM until religious services at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel conducted by Rev. Glenn Taylor. Burial will be in Greenoaks Memorial Park in Baton Rouge. Survived by his loving wife, Glenna Sue Brumfield Griggs; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Jimmie Carol and Eddie Craft, Susan and Ricky Raymond and Linda and Art Clement; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Lee and Val Griggs, Joey and Brandy Griggs and Troy Staton; 1 sister, Ruth Duplessis; 1 brother, George Griggs; 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, George and Evelyn Goff Griggs; daughter, Kimmie Capello; sister, Patsy Griggs. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Craft, James Griggs, Tony and Brandon Staton, Beau and Brett Capello. Honorary pallbearer will be Don Guyon. Jim was a member of the Cypress Bayou Retirement Club.
