Kerry Joseph Harris, 59, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, March 16, 2014, after a long, courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church as well as Knights of Columbus, and retired from KCS Railroad after 28 years of service. Born November 16, 1954 in Metairie, LA, he was a former resident of Baton Rouge, graduating from Istrouma High School in 1972. He has been a resident of Denham Springs for the last 38 years. Kerry was preceded in death by his father, Wilmon Joseph Harris; mother, Elouise Helen Couvillion Harris; and sister, Wanda Claire Harris. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Vicki Lynn Prescott Harris; three sons, Derek Paul Harris, Samuel Arthur Harris, and Benjamin Joseph Harris; two daughters-in-law, Dana Marie Nugent Harris and Kaily Amelia Guillory Harris; two grandchildren, Hannah Nicole Harris and Beau Joseph Harris; brother, Bennie Lewis Harris; sister, Kathy Ann Moore; a niece, and three nephews; and multiple cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He has given us all so much love, strength and guidance. He will be lovingly remembered always and forever. 2 Corinthians 5:6-8: So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs 5-9 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, and a service at Immaculate Conception Church at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, with visiting from 9:30 a.m. Sign the online guestbook at www.sealefuneral.com.

After working with Kerry daily for almost 30 years his wit, humor and the twinkle in his eye will always be in my memory of him. Even when it was raining and cold or 100 degrees and burning up he could bring a smile to me. One the kindest men Ive ever known. Always proud of his wife Vickie and his children. He will be missed but not forgotten.
May God bless you Vickie and loved ones. My prayers are with you all.
