William Watson Obituary

William Mullins (Bill) Watson, aged 53, passed away on April 22, 2014. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Thomas E. and Patricia M. Watson. He is survived by his wife, Teri Marabella Watson of Baton Rouge, sons Robert Fischer Watson of Flagstaff, AZ, Andrew William Watson of Baton Rouge, and grandson Micah Robert Watson of Flagstaff, AZ. Bill was born and raised in Texas City, Texas, and was a proud graduate of Texas A&M University. He married his college sweetheart in 1981, and they began their family in Houston before relocating to Baton Rouge for Bill's business. Carrying on in the Louisiana tradition, Bill loved fishing the Gulf Coast marshes with some of his closest friends. But Bill's greatest joys were revealed in time spent with his wife, his sons, and watching his grandson grow. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 11000 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA, from 6 - 8 pm on Thursday, April 24. An additional visitation will be held on Friday, April 25, at 10 AM at St. George Church, 7808 St. George Drive, Baton Rouge, LA, with a funeral mass to follow at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. George Catholic Church Capital Campaign, 7808 St. George Drive, Baton Rouge, LA, 70809–4699.

Teri:

Bill is still very much missed by all who knew and loved him. He was a friend and colleague. Countless times I have wished I had Bill to lean on when I had a tough technical issue. He was always very generous with his time. He was never too busy to answer my call. Rest in peace my friend (and save me a seat)!

Bill, there will be a hole in my life from now on. We met in the work environment only to become more as brothers than project coworkers. Now too quick you are gone in body. Already, experiences and conversations which I considered special as they occurred have taken on a deeper meaning.
Sir, your friendship honored me beyond most description, your were and always will be a special person with who I am proud to have know. As it is said " peace be with you". For you will also be There

There
There in the sun light of the morning just for a second
There in the conner of our eye a sudden movement
There in a certain sound we hear, now which means so much
There a memory recalled by a simple daily event, which is now special

We know you are there
We know you are there

You are everywhere at any moment in time
When we least expect it you are there
It is our heaven knowing you are there with us always
Knowing that you are there is our peace, is our comfort

You are not gone, you are there, you will always be there

Until we meet again,
you are here

Teri and family: I realize mere words fail us all at a time like this and are of little comfort. Bill was incredibly talented. Although I first came to know him as a vendor, we eventually became friends. He was a man's man, a loving husband, and father. We will dearly miss him and treasure the short time in this life we able to spend with him. We also share in the grief of his loss. Our prayers and thoughts are with you.

My heart goes out to the Watson family at this sad time. I had the pleasure to work with Bill over the past nine years and will truly miss him as a friend and professionally. He was a rare gem, and was of great help to me many times. I have many fond memories, and will remember the picture he shared with me of his recent proud moment with the Aggie yell leader.

We were saddened to hear of Bill's passing. We have some very fond memories of when Andrew and Trey and their friends played ball together at St. George. I especially remember a weekend where Bill, Rob Daigrepont, Steve Lindsey, and some other dads took the boy's team on a weekend outing. I really got to know Bill that weekend and not only learned what a prince of a man he was as a father and husband, but a devout and loyal Texas A&M Aggie. Our deepest condolences.

Bill and Teri were such great "bandparents" for Robbie's band in high school! Mark was welcomed by the whole family when he joined The Moondogs! Bill loaded all of them up in his suburban and drove them to a concert in Texas one weekend and they all had a great time. Teri made personal scrapbooks of the "band days" for each member! wonderful memories! Prayers for you Teri, Robbie and Andrew, Bill was truly a loving Dad.

Professionally, I had the pleasure of working with Bill and personally, had the priveledge of sharing time in a boat with him several times, as well as relaxing at his camp. He was truly one of the finest men I have known. He had a way about him that would make you feel like a long time friend, right from the start.
My condolences to the Watson family.

Teri,

So sorry for your loss and hopefully the good Lord will help you through these difficult times.

I want to share a story which you may already know. I had the privilege to sponsor Bill through the RCIA program at St George. I spent many Monday evenings with him. His thoughts through this process were one of being with the Lord, but also to be with his family in Christ. Bill longed to share the Eucharist with you and the kids. Today, I am still touched by his desire to have this in his life. The other event which moved me occurred that Saturday evening during the Easter vigil when he received the body of Christ for the first time alongside you and the kids. I had the honor of witnessing something amazing. After he received the Eucharist and returning to our seats, kneeling to say our prayers of thanks, I glanced over at him and tears was streaming form his eyes. I saw/witnessed true belief in the Lord and the completeness he had in being in union with the Lord and his family.
These times I will remember until my last day! I know that I received just as much as Bill did during the RCIA process.

God Bless
