A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Iota for Kenny Paul Bellon, 84, who died Sunday, June 29, 2014 at 9:45 p.m. at Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jennings. Mr. Bellon was a native of Basile and lifelong resident of Iota. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Fr. Jude Thierry, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Mr. Bellon is survived by four sons, Wendel Bellon of Lafayette, Shelby Bellon and his wife Vickie of Iota, James Bellon of Iota and Shane Bellon of Iota; one daughter-in-law, Annette L. Bellon of Iota; four grandchildren, Brett Bellon and his wife Kortnie, Megan Bellon and fiance', Tony Menard, Kyler Bellon and Brianne Bellon; one great-grandson, Grant Bellon. He was preceded in death by his wife Lula Mae LeJeune Bellon; son, Steve Bellon; his parents, Seaviou and Lucille Young Bellon; two sisters, Ella Mae Manuel and Mary Bellon; two brothers, John Baptist and Anason Bellon. The family wishes to thank the Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home and staff, Joy LaCombe, Darla Price, CNA-Lora, Pam Cloud, Dr. Amanda Lacomb and Heart of Hospice for their care and support of Mr. Bellon.
