Robert Cecil "Bob" Brummel Sr., a resident of Zachary, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2014, at The Crossing at Clarity Hospice. He was 83. He was a graduate of Neville High School in Monroe, LA, and Southwestern Louisiana Institute. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union 198 and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. He is survived by two sons, Robert "Bobby" C. Brummel Jr. and wife Marilyn, Kenneth "Kenny" Brummel and wife Nancy; daughter, Martha B McVea and husband Ben; five grandchildren, Allison Roshto and husband Rusty, Michelle Brummel, Kacie Koppenol and husband Rudy, Brandon Brummel and wife Leah and Brook Brummel; five great-grandchildren and one on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Ruth Brummel; wife of 53 years, Clayton Campbell Brummel; grandson, Bradley Brummel; brother, Richard Brummel; and sister, Patricia Brummel. Private funeral services will be held at a later date. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and coaching. He was a big time LSU fan and supporter. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. He was a very loving and giving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at The Crossing at Clarity Hospice.
