He entered into his eternal life on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 surrounded by his family and friends. He was born May 29, 1931 in Daluth MN and was a resident of Denham Springs. Bill was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and was an active supporter of Special Olympics. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Thursday, October 4, 2012 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a Rosary at 7:00pm. Visitation will resume Friday, October 5, 2012 at St. Pius X Catholic Church starting at 9:00am with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am, with interment to follow in Azalea Rest Cemetery in Zachary, LA. He is survived by his sons, Darrel Baker and wife Vickie, Pete Baker and wife Vicki, William Baker, Jr., Mark Baker, Greg Baker and wife Denise; daughters, Mary Baker, Marjorie Beard and husband Mike, Alice Mitchell and husband Doug, 30 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his spouse, Dolores Baker; his parents, John and Ida Baker; son, Jerry Baker; daughter-in-law, Linda Baker; and grandson, Jamie Baker.

Pete, my sincere well wishes to you and your famiy with your fathers passing. He is in a much better place now with GOD and will not suffer any more pain. From what you have said in the past, he was a much loved father who will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
