Loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully with his family gathered around him on Sunday, December 02, 2012. He was 89. He was an original co-founder of Denicola's Upholstery located on North Foster in Baton Rouge. In later years, he owned and operated Denicola & Sons Upholstery. Guy was renowned for his skill and craftsmanship throughout the area for his work in the furniture upholstery business. He was an U.S. Army veteran of WW II and proudly and honorably served in the Infantry of the Rainbow Division in Germany and Central Europe. Guy is survived by his wife, Mary Lofton Denicola; his daughters, JoAnn Denicola Bueche, Mary Beth Denicola Wilder and Lisa Lofton Picanty; his sons, Gerald Denicola, Ronny Denicola, Tommy Lofton and Jon Lofton; 22 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters, Rosalie Roppolo, Katherine Accardo and Mary O'Neal; and a brother, Henry Denicola. Guy was preceded in death by his parents, Gasper Denicola and Josephine Giambrone Denicola; first wife, Lena Calamia Denicola; son, Guy J. Denicola, Jr.; granddaughter, Natalie Denicola; sisters, Lisa Mondello and Annie Ferrara; brothers: Philip Denicola, Joe Denicola and Dominic Denicola. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Tuesday from 5:00pm until 9:00pm, with a recitation of the rosary during the visitation. Visitation will resume Wednesday at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Avenue, Baton Rouge, La. 70806 from 9:00am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am, conducted by the Rev. Miles Walsh. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.

Papa, my heart is heavy from losing you Sunday. I feel blessed to have had you in my life for 28 years. You were a wonderful grandfather to me and great-grandfather to my children.
