Dr. Paul Edward Comeaux was born November 12, 1938 and passed away on Friday, at 12:35 PM, November 2, 2012 at his residence. Paul was a graduate from Louisiana State University with a Medical Degree in 1964. He served his internship at William Beaumont General Hospital, El Paso, Texas, 1964-1965. He served his Preventative Medical fellowship at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX from 1965-1966. Paul Served as Preventative Medical and General Medical Officer (Captain) at Redstone Arsenal - Huntsville, AL. 1966-1967 in the U. S. Army. Paul began his general medical practice with The Family Medical Center in Lake Charles, LA in 1967. He was a Charter member of the American Academy of Family Practice, 1982, Past President of Calcasieu Parish Medical Society, 1987, Past President of St. Patrick's Hospital Medical Staff, 1979, Past President of Lake Charles Memorial Hospital Medical Staff, 1988, Associate Professor of Medicine at LSU Family Practice Residency program Lake Charles and Medical Director of the Skilled Nursing Facility at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. He was also The Associate Director of the SW Louisiana Wound Care Center, Medical Director and Vice-President in charge of Medical Affairs at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital 2002-2007. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Ignatius Comeaux and Corrine Leblanc Comeaux. He leaves behind his wife Jeanne (Jane) Marie Landry Comeaux, four children and their spouses: Lisa Comeaux Harris and Jonas "Butch" Faust, Laura and Mark Phillips, Douglas Paul Comeaux, and Nicole and Barry Hodges. His ten grandchildren, Kevin Chase Hannie, Grace Vaussine Carey, Armand Bruce Vaussine, Collin Comeaux, Laken Phillips Cooley, Kendal Comeaux, Kaleb Comeaux, Kelsey Comeaux, Devin Hodges, Katelyn Hodges, and five Great grandchildren. He also leaves his sisters and brother Charlene Kennedy, Robert I. and Patricia Comeaux, Jr., Susie and Fred Heroman, and Patrice and Richard Ellis with many nieces, nephews and cousins. His Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 PM, Monday, November 5, 2012 at St. Martin dePorres Catholic Church, Lake Charles. Monsignor Charles Dubois and Reverend Keith Pellerin will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary at 6:30 PM and continue from 10:00 AM until 12:30 PM in the funeral home. dear jane and family, roland and i wish to send our deepest condolences and prayers to ya'll. roland remembers paul as a kind and humble classmate and i remember him as a great cheerleader, who enjoyed the c.h.s. games, even in our dreadful '57 season.
