Mildred T. Torres Blanchard, 96, a native of Vacherie and resident of Thibodaux, died Monday, Nov. 11, 2012, at 5:05 a.m. Visitation at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral, Thibodaux, on Thursday, Nov. 15, from 9 a.m. until funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in St. Philomena Cemetery, Labadieville. Survived by her daughter, Myrna Torres Smith; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Z. Torres; brother, Warren Troxclair; sisters, Marie Louise Kocke, Hazel Anderson, Kathleen McMurray and Virgie Morse; grandchildren, Todd Smith, Monica Smith Senner, William Torres, Christopher Torres and Matthew Torres; and 12 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her first husband, Eldridge Torres; second husband, Harris Blanchard; parents, Fabian and Laurence Haydel Troxclair; son, Dr. William J. Torres; brothers, Claude Troxclair and Joseph Troxclair; sisters, Lucille Troxclair, Leona T. Luguette; and great-granddaughter, Tess Torres. Arrangements by Landry's Funeral Home, Inc., Thibodaux.
