Marshall Settoon Obituary

Beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved the outdoors and spending time with his family. A resident and native of Bayou Pigeon, he died at 6:11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2013 at Plaquemine Caring Nursing Home. He was 87, a retired commercial fisherman and boat captain. Visiting at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Bayou Pigeon, Thursday, February 14 from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m., celebrated by Rev. Clarence Waguespack. Entombment at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Pierre Part. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Grace Vaughn Settoon; step-son and daughter-in-law, Milton and JoAnn Vaughn; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mertile and Pat Settoon, Jeffery and Theresa Settoon; two sisters, Alverda Settoon Gros and Geneieve Settoon; two brothers, Fred Settoon and Irvin Settoon; seven grandchildren, Brent, Brian and Chad Vaughn, Kylie Settoon Blanchard, Megan Settoon, Justin Manning and Derrick Settoon; eleven great grandchildren, Ryan, Chelsea, Julienne, Addison and Hunter Vaughn, Brooke Blanchard, Dillen Koffer, Emma and Isabella Blanchard, Hoyt and Bryn Manning. Preceded in death by parents, Archie and Amelia Rodriguez Settoon, son Stephen Mark Settoon, brothers, Alvin, Albert, Dudley and Sterling Settoon, infant sister Anna Mae Settoon and infant brother George Settoon. Pallbearers will be Derrick Settoon, Justin Manning, Chad, Brian and Brent Vaughn, Chris Dale Settoon, Scott Settoon and Paul Theriot. Arrangements by Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine.
