Sincere thanks to everyone that sent prayers and/or attended the funeral. He is no longer hurting and in his words "that's a good thing." We loved him very much and he will be forever remembered and missed. Cheers to a good father to my husband, father in law for me, and grandpa to my girls. Heaven just got more exciting :)

I wish I could be there, but I am in Hawaii at the moment. John and I had a great time in working corrosion problems for many years. His advise and calm approach will always be remembered. My thoughts and prayers go out to Jackie and his children. He will be missed.

Mr. Tabony was a wonderful man and true friend to me. Every time I am in Pointe a La Hache I think of him. He was kind enough to sell me his family's home and I am forever grateful to him for that. It is very sad that he is not with us anymore.
He will be missed. I was blessed to have known him.

Tabony, as we knew him at Theta Xi, or John was a hoot. I loved the man. He was just fun to be around, but a scholar as well. He was smart and witty, together. Many times I enjoyed his company just hanging around the TX house with him and Jack Skains, and Sammy Sammons. I looked up to them for maturity, guidance and life's ups and downs. I question God's timing here, but who knows. He must have really needed John. Your gain, my friend, your gain. God Bless!

When I was a freshmen at LSU there was an opening in the fraternity house, and John invited me to room with him and another brother, second semester. He was a senior and I remember fondly his harassment of me and his kindness to me as a pledge, living in the house during Hell Week. He was quite a character and I only wish we would have had some contact after I left LSU in 1969. Rest In Peace dear Brother.
