A native of New Orleans Louisiana and a resident of The Greens at Pelican Point (Gonzales), peacefully passed away at The Carpenter House in Baton Rouge on Wednesday, Nov 7. He was 77. Howard was preceded in death by a son, Brian David Castay. His mother and father, Harold Theodore Castay and Lois Wade Castay Herrs, and brothers Louis and Wayne Castay. Howard is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Margaret Estelle Miller Castay, his daughter, Allison Margaret Castay, and son Howard J. Castay, Jr., (wife Darlene Loupe Castay). He is also survived by two grandsons, Jason and John Arceneaux, a granddaughter, Chastity Arceneaux, and five great-grandchildren: Samantha and Madison DeHart, and Ty, Braeden and Anna Arceneaux. Survived by numerous cousins and special friends: Fr. Anthony White, Richard Rivers, Mike Savoie, John Riley and Travis Cancienne, Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, November 9th, at St. Anthony Catholic Church 37303 Hwy 22, Darrow, La., from 9am to 11am. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Interment will follow in Oak Lane Memorial Park, 15304 Hwy 73 Prairieville, La.
