Deanna Perera Aucoin, died Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at 4:00 a.m. at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City. She was 74 years old, born August 30, 1938. She was a resident of Pierre Part. She worked as a cashier at the Pierre Part Store in the 1960s and 1970s and often spoke of how much she loved her job there. For as long as she was able to she looked forward to growing a vegetable garden every year and working in her yard. She always had a yard of beautiful flowers and plants. Before her eyesight got so bad she loved to read and she also enjoyed writing to pen pals across the U.S. She is survived by her husband, Ridley Aucoin; daughter and son-in-law, Gisele Glynn Courville and Carl Courville; grandson, Craig Courville and his wife Katy McCarthy Courville; granddaughter, Valerie Courville; brother Donald Perera Sr. and his wife Merle Perera; and her pet cockatiel, Sam. Preceded in death by her parents, Duvellier and Amelie Berthelot Perera; grandparents, Gabriel and Amelie Perera and Prosper and Elise Berthelot. As per her written request, she will be cremated. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at 8:00 a.m. until Prayer Service at 10:00 a.m. at Ourso Funeral Home in Pierre Part. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Mausoleum in Pierre Part. Condolences can be made at www.oursofhpierrepart.com.
