Joe Herman Erfurt, 82, of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away Friday, Mar. 1, 2013 at The Carpenter House. He served and defended our country in the United States Coast Guard during the Korean War. Visitation will be at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, on Sunday, Mar. 3, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation will resume Monday, Mar. 4, from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m., officiated by Rev. Chuck Lowman. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park. Survived by his wife, Dora Armstrong Erfurt; children, Douglas Erfurt and Phillip Erfurt and wife, Marlene; grandchildren, Erica Erfurt, Tera Erfurt Teekel and husband, Keith, and Bryan Erfurt; great-grandchildren, Triston Teekel, Hunter and Aubreigh Erfurt; siblings, Ruby Erfurt Cragg, Hazel Erfurt Fechko, Mary Ann Erfurt Roberts, Frank Erfurt, Richard Erfurt, Bertha Erfurt van de Water, and Margaret Erfurt Lawrence. He was preceded in death by his son, Steven Erfurt; and siblings, Murie Erfurt, Marcus Erfurt, Lee Erfurt Hungerford, Viola Erfurt Selby, Gussie Erfurt Wied, Katy Erfurt Ingram, and Susan Erfurt Palmer.
