The Parker Family,
my thoughts and prayes are with you in this your time of grief. I met "Zero" in 1980 when I became a Trooper at Troop A. I can remember him telling me "Take our time and get it right the first time." Always showing up at my accident scenes and asking "do we need the rescue equipment..I have it in my trunk." Always cheerful with a smile...Rest-In-Peace "Zero"

Herman was a wonderful Christian and a friend to all. He never met a stranger and strived to help everyone. He loved life and marched to the beat of his own drum. He will be missed. My prayers are with his family.

My sympathy goes to the Parker Family during their time of loss . I met Herman in 1976 when I reported to Troop A for the first time. Herman was always an entrepreneur that would never let a bargain pass him by. Herman always had time to stop and chat for a moment even when he was in a hurry. I feel that "Zero" will be missed by those he met as he passed through their lives.

Herman always had a smile and a great sense of humor! He was one of the "old timers" that you loved being around, listening to his stories. He never passed up a good piece of scrap metal on the highway. His way of keeping it clean I guess. Rest in Peace Herman.

My prayers go out to the Parker family in this time of sorry. Herman was my first training officer when I was hired by the Louisiana State Police. One of his first comments to me was " Get the facts, communicate, take the appropiate action." He saw the confused look on my face and simple said, "Take your time son, and get it right." Great advise in life as well as work. Herman was quick to give me a nickname too. The Captain ask how I was doing. And in the front of everyone in the squad room he responded. I got "Dudley Do Right" riding with me. And that was it. I recently saw him at a LSTA function, and he yelled Dudley Do Right and it made me smile. God Bless Your Herman.
