He was a resident of Greensburg, La, and a native of Baton Rouge. He passed away Friday, January 25, 2013 at his residence. He retired from EBR Clerk of Courts, was on the Board of Directors for Central Fire Department, owned Approved Glass, and was employed at Capital Rubber after retirement. He is survived by his companion, Barbara L. Walker; two sons, Donnie and wife Michelle Abadie, Brandon and wife Carol Abadie; four grandchildren, Tyler, Rachel, Raegan and Addison Abadie. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Francis and Elaine McGehee Abadie, and a brother, James F. Abadie. Pallbearers will be Tyler Abadie, Blake and Brad Lawson, Wallace Day, Beau Higginbotham, Kendall Day and Keith Waguespack. Visitation will be on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Monday, January 28, 2013 from 8 a.m. until service time at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Greenoaks Memorial Park. He loved fishing in Grand Isle and spending time with his grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center.

I only met Roy a few times but I remember how nice he was each time I saw him and I could tell how much he loved you. I am truly sorry to hear about his passing and will keep you and your family in my continued prayers.

Brandon, so sorry that I didn't find out in time to pay my respects. I'm sure you remember that Buffington Mayer said his walk was "smooth". Get Pam to tell you if you don't know that story. Scooter and I called him "smooth" all the time. I am so sorry for your loss. I know that you have many great memories as we all do and will remember "Roy" with a smile.
