Our beloved father, Charles Donald Terrell passed away peacefully on Father's Day, Sunday, June 16, 2013. Charles Donald Terrell was born on July 24, 1931 in Prentiss, MS. He was a resident of Baton Rouge and a former resident of Pascagoula, MS and Slidell, LA . Don is survived by his beloved children, Timothy Keith Terrell and his wife, Debbie Waltman Terrell, Sandra Terrell Browning and her husband, Norman Browning, Ted Roy Terrell and his wife, Patty Kennedy Terrell , and Wendy Terrell Grantier, all of Baton Rouge, Suzann Terrell Reagan and her husband, Patrick William Reagan, and Tina Terrell Fontenot and her husband, Neil Fontenot, all of Lafayette, and Sandra Baum Terrell, surviving spouse of Donald Leo Terrell of Mandeville. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, Beau Terrell and his wife, Ivy Wilson Terrell, Katie Terrell, Keith Terrell, Abby Terrell Brown and her husband Matt Brown, Ryan Browning, Matt Browning, Megan Browning Frank and her husband Kyle Frank, Ashley Terrell Ferrer and her husband Simon Ferrer, Lacey Terrell, Taylor Reagan, Shelby Reagan , Patrick Reagan, Charli Fontenot, Laney Fontenot, Adam Grantier , Andrew Grantier, Alli Grantier Fayard and her husband Kolt Fayard, and Alex Grantier. He was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren, Coleson Browning, Ryleigh Terrell, Connor Frank, Layla and Brady Brown, Lane and Reid Fayard, Adrianna and Ava Grantier and one great grandchild on the way. Don was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Ernie Diez Terrell, beloved son and daughter, Donald Leo Terrell and Roxann Terrell Ash; his beloved parents, Harvey C. and Lucy Terrell; sister, Jackie Lockwood, and brothers Patrick "Boo" Terrell and Thomas "Shot" Terrell. Don was a devout Catholic who loved his Lord and his Church, Most Blessed Sacrament, where he attended mass daily. Don was a successful residential building contractor and a member of the Capital Region Home Builders Association. He served as a 2nd Class Petty Officer in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Don was a 1950 graduate of Catholic High School. He also attended LSU for four years and was a true LSU Tiger fan. The Terrell family is truly blessed to have had such a loving and devoted husband, father and friend. His sense of humor and bright smile will forever be in our hearts. Pallbearers will be grandsons Ryan Browning, Beau Terrell, Matthew Browning, Keith Terrell, Patrick Reagan and Alex Grantier. Honorary Pallbearers: Adam Grantier and Andrew Grantier. Special thanks to Drs. Kadair, McClelland, Civello, Patton, Dupont, Corona, Petit, Boudreaux and Kantrow. We would also like to thank the nursing staff of Baton Rouge General Hospital, Our Lady of the Lake Hospital and Hospice of Baton Rouge for their compassionate care. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 18 from 6pm to 9pm. A funeral Mass will be held at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 19 at 11am. Burial will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
