A retired dietary worker from Livonia High School, she died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at 2:35 p.m. at Pointe Coupee General Hospital. She was 81 and native and resident of Fordoche. Visiting at Greater Union Baptist Church (Little Union), 5521 Fordoche Road, Fordoche, on Friday, Sept. 13, from 4 p.m. until wake services at 7 p.m. Religious service at the church on Saturday, Sept. 14, at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Edward Armstead Jr. Interment in Fordoche Cemetery, Fordoche. Survived by her goddaughter, Shirley Ann Ginn, of Baton Rouge, whom she reared; two grandsons, Emanuel T. Ginn (Pluck) whom she reared, Jessie Akins, of Fordoche, and Terrence Gerard Ginn, of Baton Rouge; great-grandson, Emanuel T. Ginn, 11, of Fordoche - Heather Gregoire (mother of great-grandson) of Denham Springs; two sisters, Eula Mae Ginn, Maringouin, and Audrey "Tiny" James, of Baton Rouge; six brothers, Eddie "Sweet Pea" Stevenson, of New Roads, Johnnie Green, Ivan O'Brien (Lola K.) Green, of Lottie, David (Irma) Ginn, of Baton Rouge, Charles Ginn, of Fordoche, and Clarence Ginn, of Maringouin; sister-in-law, Bertha Sterling, of Fordoche; 15 godchildren; special nieces, Lorraine Sterling and Delores (Dee) Wright, all of Fordoche - who was residing with her; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
