Johnny Ceballos'-Rivera aka Juan De La Cruz passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at the age of 83. He was a native of Santurce, Puerto Rico and a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and father-in-law. Master Gunnery Sergeant E-9 Johnny Ceballos'-Rivera served 32 years in the United States Marine Corp. His hobbies were golfing, tennis, politics, and current events. Johnny loved watching Westerns and the news. He is survived by his wife, Josefina (Cookie) Ceballos-Rivera; daughters, Elizabeth (Jossie) Baltazaar and Viviana (Vicky) Ceballos'-Rivera; sons, Junito Ceballos'-Rivera, Johnny Ceballos'-Rivera, Jr., Jerry Ceballos'-Rivera, Roger Ceballos'-River, and John John Ceballos'-Rivera; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Roger and Luz Delia Cunningham and Jina Ceballos'-Rivera; nieces, Wanda Ceballos'-Rivera and Madeline Ceballos'-Rivera; daughters-in-law, Deanna Ceballos'-Rivera, Claudia Ceballos'-Rivera, and Emily Ceballos'-Rivera; sons-in-law, Ronny Ray Baltazaar and Russell Baltazaar; 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eustaquio Ceballos' and Reta Rivera. Visitation will be held at The First United Pentecostal Church, 1020 South Range Avenue, Denham Springs, LA 70726, on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 from 9 am until funeral service beginning at 10 am. I worked with Johnny at MCAS El Toro California. He was an outstanding Marine and an even more wonderful human being. My sympathy to the Ceballos-Rivera family.
