Louis Broussard Obituary

Funeral services will be conducted for Louis Broussard, 88, on Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at 2:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Buddy Breaux officiating. Entombment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Monday, February 17, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at 8:00 AM until service. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Monday at 7:00 PM. Born on July 24, 1925 in Loreauville and raised in Loreauville, Mr. Broussard died on Sunday, February 16, 2014, at 3:37 PM in a New Iberia hospital. His Dad managed Twin Pine Farms and he worked with him on the farm. He served Honorably with the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict, spending time in Okinawa, Japan. He was a carpenter, specifically interior boat finishing, working many years with Breaux Bay Craft and retiring after 10+ years service with McDermott. As a young family man, he enjoyed trips to Holly Beach to go crabbing and outings to his brother-in-law's camp in Butte LaRose, cooking a big pot of cowboy stew. He worshiped and was a faithful parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Loreauville. He is survived by his children, Sandra Boudreaux and her husband Preston, Ray Broussard and his wife Lecia, Shirley Broussard and her companion Kent Bonin, Louisette Broussard and Liz Broussard all of Loreauville; his daughter-in-law, Becky Blanchard of Parks; his grandchildren, Amy Theriot and her husband Damon, Ashley Hebert and her husband Jason, Hillary Savoy and her husband Gerald, Hunter and Chet Broussard, Heidi Blanchard and her husband Scotty and Maci Bonin; his great grandchildren, Elena Escoyne, Addison Theriot and Jordyn Hebert and expecting a great grandchild, Jillian Hebert. He was preceded in death by his wife Wolla Mae Guidry Broussard; his parents, George A. Broussard and Enola Peltier Broussard; his sons, Ronald, Harold and Darrell Broussard; his sister and brother-in-law, May Broussard Blanchard and her husband Vincent; his nephew, Lynn Blanchard; his uncle, Clarence Peltier, Sr.; his special uncle, Charles Broussard and his special friend, Bobby Betar. Pallbearers will be Preston Boudreaux, Damon Theriot, Jason Hebert, Ray Broussard, Hunter Broussard and Chet Broussard. Honorary pallbearers will be Kent Bonin, George Blanchard and Rogers Peltier. The family would like to express a Thank You to Consolata Nursing Home, Dr. Jose Mata, Dr. Eli Levine, Dr. Moses Kitakule and Iberia Medical Center ICU Staff.
