Mr. Murphree was my principal at Robert E Lee High from 70-74. These were tumultuous times on many levels but Mr. Murphree always did his best to keep things on an even keel. I worked in the office as a student aide during my Jr & Sr years and had many interactions with him. I know he was a fair man and had the best interests of the student body at heart. I always enjoyed visits with him after graduating. May God Bless him and prayers for him and his family.

I was saddened to read of "Coach" Murphree's passing. He was my JV track coach at BRHS and then became the varsity coach for my next two years. As my classmates approach our 50th reunion there are countless of us that owe much of our individual successes to this consummate gentleman.
I know full well he is resting in heaven and helping to coach
God's track team. Take your mark Coach, and thanks for your wisdom and guidance.
