Funeral services for Flemming "Flem" David Hilbun Sr, 88, of Denham Springs, LA will be Tuesday, January 3, 2017at 1:00 PM in Gill Chapel with Rev. Prentice Gandy officiating. Visitation will be 10:30 am until time of service with burial at Ogden Cemetery under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home in Winnsboro, LA, Flem was born November 20, 1928 and peacefully passed from this life December 28, 2016 at his residence. Flem was survived by his wife Peggy , four sons , Michael David , Richard Gordon, Joseph Louie and Curtis Lamar; brother Elmer Hilbun; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren , nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved son Flemming David Hilbun Jr. and daughter Christin Laura; his mother, Minnie Jennings and father Gordon Hilbun; two brothers, Mick Hilbun, George Hilbun. Flem, (Pee Wee) had a fierce love for his uncle Gerald (Bud) Hilbun of Baskin and wanted him to know he is saving him a seat between him and the Lord Jesus Christ ! He loved you so Bud ! Flem (Pee Wee) loved people and was known as a man of strength, wit, laughter and his love for his Lord Jesus Christ. Flem will be remembered for his beautiful smile, giving spirit and generosity to others. He was truly one of a kind, and will be in our hearts forever ! Our loss is Heaven's gain ! He was a Army veteran from 1945-1948. He was in military policeman during WWII. Pallbearers will be Richard Davis, Charles Davidson, Leroy Ratcliff, Adam Ratcliff, Troy Jacobs and John (Bo) Williams. Honorary pallbearer will be Ed Roberts. Condolences may be sent to www.gillfirstnational.com.
