Joe Jemison Obituary

Joseph Dandridge Jemison passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016. He was 50 years old. He was a graduate of Doyle High School and Southeastern Louisiana University. He was a social worker and a lifelong resident of Livingston. Joe was quick-witted, funny and a joy to be around. He had a knack for woodworking and was rarely defeated on the tennis court. He will be missed. He is survived by sister, Harriet Pope Corban; brother, Ronald Powers Pope, Jr.; nephews Stanton Taylor and Jordan Pope; nieces, Holly Taylor Sheets and husband Joshua, and Anna Pope. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Joseph and Jeanette Jemison, Julius and Olivia Beregi; mother, Harriet Gail Beregi Jemison; and brother, John Jemison. A graveside service, lead by Rev. Charles Ellzey, will be held on Tuesday, January 3 at 10:00 a.m. at Gateway Gardens Memorial Park, 29245 Magnolia Street in Livingston.

I will miss you my friend

I miss you friend. We started our friendship on the tennis courts together 30 years ago and remained friends throughout our time at Southeastern and beyond. I wish that I had stopped more frequently by Livingston to see you on my trips to Baton Rouge. Rest well.
