A retired brick layer with 50 years of service and a resident of Gonzales, he departed this life Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, at St. Helena Nursing Home. He was 84 and a native of Napoleonville. Visiting was at St. Paul Baptist Church on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Rosevelt McMeller. Interment in the church cemetery. He survived by daughters, Martha (Leslie) Denise Henry, Andrea Lisa (John) Songy, and Rose Henry; seven grandchildren, two sisters, Bertha Marere, of New Orleans, and Nancy Collins, of Metarie; and a devoted brother, Herman Henry (Margret), of Amite. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie Henry; his parents, three brothers, and two sisters. Hambrick's Family Mortuary, Inc., Gonzales, in charge of arrangements.
