Dalsey J. "Black" David Sr.

A native of New Roads and resident of Oscar, La., he died at 5:40 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012 at Sage Rehab in Baton Rouge. He was 87, a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army, a retired Operator with the La. State Department of Transportation and Development and a retired Constable of Pointe Coupee Parish District 6, with 22 years of service. Visiting at Niland's Funeral Home in New Roads on Saturday Nov. 10, 2012 from 12 noon until service in the funeral home at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. Greg Daigle. Interment in False River Memorial Park. Survivors include sons Roger David, Lester David, Ronald David, Kenneth David and Craig David; daughter, Lou Ann Autin; sisters, Lucille Porche and Elta Gauthier; brother, Ervin David; 28 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Odile Guerin David; sons, Robert James David, Dalsey David, Jr. and Terry Michael David; parents, Alcee and Julia David; and sisters, Doris and Mildred.
