Donald H. Landry, longtime resident of Baton Rouge and native of Morganza, passed away at his home on Friday, July 24, 2015 at the age of 74. Don proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean and Vietnam Wars and was retired due to injuries incurred during active duty. He was currently active in the follow organizations: The Military Order of the Purple Heart, Acacia Shrine Temple, Central Masonic Lodge #442, BR High 12 Club, Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Underage Military Service, Bee Patrol, Americal Division Association, and Big Bad Bravo. Don was survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Betty B. Landry; children, Robin J.M. Landry and Tina A. Landry; close family friend, Amanda Good; step-daughters, Cheryl Bosarge, Terri B. Fitzgerald and Lisa Bosarge; brother, Simon J. Landry and wife Laura; granddaughter, Lauren J. Conner; grandson, Daniel J. Watson; and first wife and mother of his children, Betty (Jane) Vosburg Landry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence P. Landry and Esma Comeaux Landry; daughter, Lisa L. Watson; and step-son, Ricky Bosarge. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Monday, July 27, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 from 8:30 am until the Masonic Service at 9:30 am immediately followed by the Funeral Service. A graveside service with military honors will follow at 11:00 am at the Louisiana National Cemetery in Zachary. A reception will be held after the graveside service at the Greenoaks Reception Center from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Military Order of the Purple Heart at www.purpleheart.org, or the Acacia Shrine Center at 7991 S. Commerce Ave. Baton Rouge, LA 70815-8029. Betty, we are so vey sorry for the loss of Donald. We will certainly miss seeing his smile at the dances. We sincerely hope that the comfort you receive from family and friends will help you to adjust to such a big loss.

PDC Don, all of us at DAV will miss you being a part of our lives. I know I will personally miss seeing your and Ms. Betty smiling faces at our Conventions and having a fellow Baton Rougean to complain about LSU with. It's hard to lose one of the "good guys". May God be with you and yours.
