Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Maringouin, LA for Mrs. Elsie Mae Norris, 83, who passed away on Friday, April 18, 2014 at Opelousas General Health System. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Father Joseph Sanjay will be officiating the services. Mrs. Norris is survived by: her husband, Elijah Norris, Sr. of Maringouin; three sons, Elijah Norris, Jr. (Denise), Isaac Norris, Sr. (Eva Mae) and Charles Ray Norris (Tracey), all of Maringouin; three daughters, Mary Keller and Beverly Bessix (Michael), both of Baton Rouge and JoAnna Thymes of Maringouin; one brother, Ivory Keys, Sr. (Pearl) of Port Barree; one sister, Betty White of Lawtell; 12 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Henderson and Velma Keys; one grandson, Henderson Norris; 6 sisters; and 4 brothers. Visitation will be observed on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Words of condolences may be expressed at fordandjosephfh.com.
