Francis Paul Naquin, Sr. passed away on October 6, 2013 at the Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jackson, LA at the age of 93. He was born August 5, 1920 at home at 905 St. Ferdinand St in Baton Rouge to Camile Joseph and Etna Mae Cambre Naquin. A band member and graduate of Catholic High School, class of 1938. He honorably served his country in the US Army
28th Infantry Division, 447th AAA AW Battalion in France, Belgium, Luxemburg and Germany. Awarded the Bronze Star
Medal "for heroic and meritorious service" with the discharge rank of Sergeant. Returning home from the war he worked for the Illinois Central Railroad and Ethyl Corporation. He was retired from Best Manufacturing Company. He and his late wife Lena Talbot Naquin enjoyed many happy years traveling in their motor home across the US and Europe along with the Crusin' Cajuns and many friends. Survived by his children F. Paul Naquin, Jr. and his wife Ann; SuEllen Lithgoe and husband Jack; Nancy Hernandez and husband Ronnie; and Julius Reagan Naquin and wife Vickie. Grandchildren Adam C. Hull, Walter Reagan Hull (Rachel), Allison Hull Fugate (Ethan), Bryant Hernandez, Blake Hernandez, Amy N. Varnado (Jamie), Jay Naquin, Reine N. Woolbright (Eric), Matt Naquin (Jesse); Ellen Naquin Cranwell (Bill), and eight great-grandchildren; a sister Edna Mae N. Cancienne (Harold) of Thibodaux; and sister-n-law Gladys Becker Naquin. Preceded in death by his parents, wife Lena, brother Nolan Naquin, and Joyce Yunkes Naquin Speck. Funeral services will be held privately. Our sincerest gratitude to the LA War Veteran Home Jackson, LA and personnel who watched so carefully over our father, especially his caretakers Anna, Brenda, Mae, Judith, and Bruce.
