George Eddie Bueche

Retired from Pointe Coupee School Board as a bus driver and from Ethyl Corp., he died at 8:20 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at his home. He was 89 and a native and resident of Jarreau. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II where he was a prisoner of war. Visiting at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lakeland, on Thursday, Feb. 7, from 8 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Gregory Daigle, celebrant. Entombment in Chenal Mausoleum. Survived by his wife of 65 years, Iris Guidroz Bueche; two sisters, Dora Guillaume and Nola Aguillard; and godchildren, Glenn Bueche, Susan Hudson and Rafe Garon. Preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Melicie Bueche; sister, Bernice LeBeau; six brothers, John V., Merrick, Edgar, Louis, Emmitt and Donald Bueche. Pallbearers will be Glenn Bueche, Rafe Garon, Joseph Neal, Mitch Aguillard, Mike Bueche and Monty Bueche. He was a member of the American Legion, Woodmen of the World, Beagle Hunting Association, Prisoners of War and the Kiwanis.
