An operator at Georgia Gulf, he passed away at his residence on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, He was 54 and a resident and native of Plaquemine. Visiting at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Plaquemine, on Tuesday, Nov. 27, from 8 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Cleo J. Milano, celebrant. Interment in Grace Memorial Park. Survived by his wife of 31 years, Patricia Gascon Hergruder; daughter, Chelsea Hergruder Crilly and husband Jon; son, Spencer Hergruder; sister, Gayle Saurage; and granddaughter, Genevieve Grace Crilly. Preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Betty Devillier Hergruder. He loved to hunt and watch LSU baseball. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. John School.
