Jane Hendrix Obituary

Jane C. Hendrix, born in Hammond, LA on Nov. 27, 1927 to Tony and Rose Varisco Cognato, died in Baton Rouge on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014. She was a long time resident of Baton Rouge and was a retired auditor for the Louisiana Department of Revenue with 25 years of service. Visitation will be at St. Jude Catholic Church, 100 Gardere Lane, on Friday, Feb. 21, 2014 from 9:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am celebrated by the Rev. Michael Collins. Entombment will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory Mausoleum. Jane is survived by her son, Michael Shannon Hendrix; grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth Hendrix, Jason Christopher Hendrix and Wesley Tyler Hendrix; great-granddaughter, Londyn Hendrix; dearest friend, Vickie D. Hendrix; sister, Virginia Gaumond of Montgomery, AL; nephews, Robert E. Jones, Jr. of Slidell and David Gaumond of Metairie; nieces, Julie Gaumond of Montgomery, Carolyn Broussard of Baton Rouge and Kay Barton of Monroe; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Leon Hendrix; sisters, Inez Cognato Jones and Marie Cognato Owens; parents, Tony and Rose Varisco Cognato; and an infant brother, Philip Cognato.
