I have always been grateful to Joe for the way he welcomed me as USFWS employ when we moved to Louisiana. And he was always a good friend. I'm sorry I missed the funeral, but at 5:30 of that morning I entered the hospital with heart failure. I am out now and on the mend. May he and Rosalie now enjoy their new life together.

Mr.Joe and my late father colleagues at the State. A wonderful conservationist and amazing person. I have fond memories of our volunteer efforts and treasure our visit at the LWF awards in March.

Joe was a class act. I always enjoyed hearing his perspective and recollections of the early days of LDWF, La Outdoor Writers Association, and any number of natural resource issues.
He will be missed.

Mr. Joe helped me get my first student worker job with WLF, which then turned into my first internship. He was a great man. I can't see a biscuit without thinking of his infamous cat head biscuits! (To my knowledge, there is still a framed copy in WLF Headquarters on Quail Drive.)

There are no words to describe how much "Mr. Joe" meant to our family. Joe has touched so many lives and made our state a better place to live. I'm so glad the Magnolia Wood Garden Club was able to honor him in April. Bruce and I loved him and Ms. Rosalie so much! Miss them both every day!

Mr. Joe was the kindest man I ever met. He never met a stranger because he could relate to anyone. He made the world a better place, truly. I will miss him dearly, but his stories will live on in my heart forever.

Mr. Joe always made me feel good whenever we met and worked together over the years. The Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries became a better agency and our state's wildlife resources second to none during his leadership. Well done.
