Hello Gail,
I received a Legacy.com note that it's been five years since Jo passed away. It hardly seems like that much time has gone by. I remember when she used to sit on the front porch on summer evenings till dark watching all of us playing on Louisiana Ave - you, Anna Lee, Bonnie, me, and whoever else was "hanging out." I also remember her driving us to Jr. High and thinking how stylish she was.
My sister, Beverly, and I sometimes drive through the old neighborhood when I visit Baton Rouge but it's really disappointing that things have deteriorated so much. We like to think about the good times and the good neighbors like Miss Frances and Mr. Chambers. I still remember Beverly bringing them to our house before my wedding and how they really enjoyed being part of our family that evening.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time.

A letter to Jo : Dear Jo, First of all I want to commend you for your remarkable life . I've been told that when your soul reaches God at the time of your entrance into His loving hands, He will ask you "what did you do with the life I gave you ?" I feel totally confident that he will be pleased with your answer. I can only imagine how happy you are to be reunited with so many that you loved and cared for. Secondly, although it's been many years since I last saw you, I remember well how many thoughtful things you did for my mom and I hope you knew how much it was appreciated. She loved you and your whole family so much...... something we don't see so much today. And so, I don't offer condolences..... I salute you ...... you were a grand lady....... God bless you . Dear Gail and Family,

We were saddened to hear of Jo's passing. Many memories came flooding back from the old neighborhood where we all grew up. We will remember the good times we had there! May those memories sustain you at this sad time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
