Kenneth Trahan Obituary

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 11:00 am at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette for Kenneth J. Trahan, 59, who passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014 in Lafayette. Visitation will be observed on Thursday, June 26, 2014 from 8:30 am until time of services at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette. A rosary will be recited by Rita LeDoux on Thursday, June 26th at 9:30 am in the Fountain Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Father Allen Breaux, Associate Pastor of St. Benedict the Moor Church of Duson, LA will officiate. Gift bearers will be his granddaughter, Fallon Caldwell and his two grand nieces, Amber and Heidi Alleman. Readers will be Lanette Trahan and Pattie Blanchard. Kenneth was born Friday, December 10, 1954 in Lafayette, LA and was a lifetime resident of Acadiana. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, camping and cooking. He loved telling jokes while having Bar-B-Q and grilling with his camping buddies. There was nothing that could replace the special moment shared with his brother, Kevin, while fishing. Everyday it was a guarantee that he would be talking on the phone with ""Crown"" his trucking buddy and his lifelong boss, Mike Foreman. Him and his wife, Jenita loved spending time together with their family and friends. Kenneth is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Jenita Stelly Trahan; his two stepdaughters, Sheila Broussard of Judice and Wendy Broussard and fiancé Bobby Hebert; brother, Kevin Jude Trahan of Breaux Bridge; sister, Sheila Marie Trahan of Lafayette; his mother-in-law ""like a mother"", Mable ""MaeMae"" Broussard of Judice and ""the apple of his eye"" one granddaughter, Fallon Marie Caldwell who lovingly called him ""My Gramps."" He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Albert Trahan and Eula May Rabeaux and his brother, Christopher Wayne Trahan. Online obituary and guest book may be viewed at www.fountainmemorialfuneralhome.com.
