Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 2, 2014, at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian burial in St. Edmond Catholic Church for Linda Fay McZeal, 65, who died Sunday, July 27, 2014, at her residence in Lafayette. Interment will be at St. Martin DePorres Cemetery. The Rev. Gilbert J. Dutel will be the celebrant of the Mass. Linda was born on January 20, 1949, the fourth of ten children, daughter of the late Curley and Mildred Benoit McZeal. A life-long resident of Lafayette, Linda was a graduate of Paul Breaux High School Class of 1967. Linda was employed with the Lafayette Parish School System for 37 years as a paraprofessional and bus driver. She worked for the Lafayette Consolidated Government part-time for 39 years. Linda leaves to cherish her memories: her son, Demarka McZeal of Lafayette; five brothers: Howard McZeal (Carla), James McZeal (Mary), Charles McZeal (Barbara) and Glynn McZeal (Gloria), all of Lafayette and Lee McZeal of Washington D.C.; one sister, Gertie McZeal of Lafayette; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Kameron Anthony McZeal, her parents: Curley and Mildred McZeal, her sister, Mary Jane McZeal, and two brothers: Curley McZeal Jr. and John McZeal. Viewing will be Friday, August 1, 2014, 5:00-9:00 PM and resume Saturday, August 2, 2014, 7:00-9:30 PM at Kinchen Funeral Home. The rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Friday.
