Had I know that Mignon was in bad health I would have been down there long ago...what a great gal she was and I know it was a tough time for you and family. Mary Katherine told me about Mignon's death maybe a month ago or less.

Johnny, John and Mignonne, I first met all of you at First Presbyterian Church. I kept all of the children under 5 while their parents attended church. What a beautiful family! I babysat for you all when I was in high school! What a joy with such precious children! My heart was broken when Yancy died. I was lucky enough to see Mignonne thru the years, she was always so precious to me! I am so sorry for your loss! She was a special person! Ann Coad Harris

To the Family of Miss Yancey:
The moment she arrived at Baker High School, she influenced us with her graciousness and kindness. She loved us and we loved her. She taught English, but more than that she made a difference in our lives. Her memory lives on.
Please accept our heartfelt condolences.

Dear Mr. John, and family, I am saddened by your loss. Yawl have both been great friends to my mother Marion we loved your wife so very much who was so beautiful in so many ways inside and out. Yawl both were also supportive and encouraging to me as well. Yawl were there for me when I needed friends like yawl most. Mrs. Mignonne was a dear friend to me wrote me when I was sick and prayed for me often. She always made me smile when I saw her. She was indeed "The Sweetheart of Sigma Chi" in every since of the song sang about her. Now she is home with her Sigma Chi son, Yancey. We are all better off for having known her. I am so very sorry for your loss...Mignonne and I and many others met through Jazzercise. What a true southern lady with an infectious smile and the "sweetest" wit! It was during one of our many conversations that I knew her granddaughter Grace as we both grew up in Natchitiches, LA. Please know that I will keep all of her family in my prayers. Am truly blessed to have known her.

My wife Ann and I express our sincere condolences to the White family at the loss of Mignonne. Surely the family, and
all who knew her, take comfort in the knowledge that hers was a life so fully and rewardingly lived. From our own personal standpoint, we will continue to have the joy of knowing her granddaughter Grace through our own granddaughter, Emery Schwab. As always, it will be through the lives of these next generations that our senior generation is best memorialized.
We will always remember Mignonne's beauty and grace, which are eternal. Ann and John Schwab
