A resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Brookhaven, Miss., she died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2007, at 1:33 p.m. at age 83. Visiting at Winnfield Funeral Home on Monday, Aug. 13, from 8:30 a.m. until religious service at noon. Interment in Winnfield Memorial Park. Survived by her husband, Joseph Hubbard; daughter, Darline McAllister of Elk Grove, Calif.; four sons, Ester McAllister of New Orleans, James McAllister of Portland, Ore., Godfrey McAllister of Vancouver, Wash., and Jarvis McAllister of Sacramento, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sister, Bernice Brown of Vallejo, Calif.; and brother, Jessie Buie of Brookhaven. Preceded in death by her father, Jeff Buie and mother, Irene Stovall Buie; brother, Arthur Buie Sr.; and son, Reginald McAllister. Honorary pallbearers are James, Ester, Godfrey and Jarvis McAllister, Kelvin and Ronald Spencer. She attended Mississippi School for the Deaf.
