Percy Askins

A native of Plaquemine, he passed away Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at his residence. Visitation at Pugh's Mortuary, 58233 Plaquemine St., Plaquemine, on Friday, Nov. 9, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visitation resumes Saturday, Nov. 10, at Greater St. Mary Baptist Church, 58820 W.W. Harleaux St., from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Geoffrey O. Sykes. Interment in Grace Memorial Park. Survived by his wife, Juanita H. Askins; two sons, Dealex Hines and Dewayne Askins; two daughters, Whylithia and Lawanda Askins; five sisters, Edna Veal (Joe), Ida Harris (Henry), Louise Davis (James), Virginia Mosby and Helen McGinnis; three brothers, Tommy and Frank Askins (Jene) and Henry Givens; an aunt, Ada Anderson; nine grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
