Ms Taylor and family, though we're never met please accept my deepest condolances for the loss of your beloved Ray. Though I had only known him for just over 2 years, I had come to really enjoy his company at early morning coffee gab fests at the YMCA. He was one of the nicest and most congenial people I had ever known. I'm so sorry that our friendship could not have lasted much, much longer. He was a true friend.

Mr. Ray was such a nice man. I enjoyed having coffee with him and Mr. Mike everyday at the YMCA. Of course, it has been a few years, but I will always remember his smile. Wishing his family peace and love.

To Ethel and family,
I was deeply saddened to hear of Ray's passing. He was a great guy, a loyal classmate, and a devoted friend.
I knew he was ill but was hoping that his doctors were having success in beating this terrible scourge that took him away.
Ray is going to be sorely missed by all of us in the Marshall High School Class of 1956. Counting him as a friend was something special. I will miss the jokes he sent via e-mail. They were something to look forward to each time I opened my electronic mail box.
Ray's life was one of success, not only for his professional and educational achievements and triumphs but because he had the East Texas smarts to recognize a jewel when he met and married Ethel, a lovely girl who was a perfect wife to him. Together, Ray and Ethel brought outstanding children, each one a model citizen, into the world.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Ray was a true friend. He was never without a smile. He could remember the names of young athletes. And would always order a hot dog for breakfast! We will miss you Ray.
