I did not know my grandfather well but I was very sad and confused when he passed. At least I know where my mother and I got our spunk! It was nice to know him and I'm sorry we could not share more stories together. I'm sorry for everyone's loss and I'm sorry I could not be there.

Over the past several years, I have often thought of visiting Mr. Hardgrave during my few trips back to town, but just never made it happen. Life goes by too quickly. I regret not being able to make the services and my thoughts and prayers are with you all. I know he will be dearly missed.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of uncle Dick's passing. Memories of visits back and forth between Austin family and Baton Rouge family are a big part of how I look back on growing up. My deepest condolences. He will be missed.

It has been at least a million or two years since I have seen you guys or Dick. I am sure sorry for your loss. I still remember the more simple days when we occupied all of our days riding bikes and finding something or someone to bother. He always welcomed me whether I deserved it or not. My sincere condolences. A.V. Hanks

We spent a lot of hours together in the dove fields. I really admired his generation. He will be greatly missed by the dove hunting boys of 4-H club. We loved hearing his stories and listening to him and Mr Neal go at each other.( The old Navy and Marine Corp thing. RIP Old Friend
