I am sorry for Rudy´s passing. My husband and I are to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary this year. I wanted to invite him to our celebration so I looked him up. I was a student at LSUNO when we were planning our wedding. Rudy provided pre-marital counseling. His first words to us were, "So, you two want to get married. I suggest you go live together for a year and let me know how it goes." Of course, in jest. The following year, we ran into him on the streets Mardi Gras Day. He was excited to tell us of his plans to become a "shipboard priest", saying daily mass. Rudy was a delightful human being, a great Catholic influence for those around him and, boy, did he have a fabulous sense of humor. RIP, Father Schmidt.

Offering prayers & condolences with the family of Mr. Schmidt!!! May u seek comfort in God's loving arms during this time!!! I'm happy I had the chance to me such a wonderful person!!! As his nurse, even on his "not so good days" he always kept a warm spirit & kept me smiling!! My greatest memory is when he would walk into the clinic joyfully singing "I've got sunshine, on a cloudy day"!! (My Girl) :-) Mrs. Schmidt & Rudy Jr. may you continue to smile as you reflect on the wonderful memories you've shared with him. God Bless!!
